Chiltern Archery was not always known by this name. Our family business started life in 1963 known as Aylesbury Toxophily Crafts Ltd in a small shop near the centre of Aylesbury by Peter and Dorothy Saunders. Over the years the business grew from strength to strength with a particular specialism in making leather archery goods and recurve bows.
In 1982 with the business continuing to grow and, Peter and Dorothy’s son joining the business they re-branded, moved to a new premises that allowed for a bigger shop and 7 acres of land which allowed for an outdoor and an indoor range. This space and expansion allowed us to supply clubs, schools and archers with everything they needed.
In October 2007 after a major rebuild we opened our brand new centre which now sees us as one of Europe’s largest pro-shop, we have a 30m 5 boss purpose build range, 100m outdoor range and a showroom which stocks everything you could possibly need.
We continue as a family business with the third generation slowly being taught the trade as well as our philosophy that has been passed down over the years.
It is our mission to provide a first class service to everyone who walks through our doors, to open up archery to whomever wants to try it and to promote and progress our archers so that they can enjoy this amazing sport for a lifetime.
